Letters Home : a selection of wartime correspondence from the Clara Thomas Archives & Special Collections
In honour of Remembrance Day, the archives has installed a new online exhibit. Letters home is based on a previous physical exhibit installed in Scott Library in 2009. The current exhibit features a selection of correspondence and photographs exchanged between soldiers and their families during the First and Second World Wars.
The exhibit features letters from the following archival fonds:
Aplin family fonds
Lennox family fonds
Shore family fonds
Dorothy Stepler fonds

The letter was dated May 3, 1943. On the night of May 4/5, 1943, Lennox and his crew were shot down along the German-Dutch border.
Final letter from Fannie Lennox to her son John Watt returned unopened.
